Tripura Joint Entrance Examination

TJEE is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE). It is used for admission into Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, and other professional degree courses in colleges across the state of Tripura.

📅 2026 Critical Timeline

🎓 Eligibility & Domicile Rules

Tripura JEE is strictly residential. To be eligible, you must:

  • Residency: Be a Permanent Resident of Tripura (PRC required).

  • The 10-Year Rule: Either the candidate or one of their parents must have resided in Tripura continuously for at least 10 years immediately prior to the application date.

  • Academic: Passed or appearing in the 10+2 (Higher Secondary) exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.

  • Minimum Marks: At least 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/PwD) in the three subjects.

📝 Exam Pattern (Offline OMR)

The exam has been modernized into a single-day format divided into three shifts:

  • Shift 1 (Physics & Chemistry): 90 minutes (Combined paper).

  • Shift 2 (Biology): 45 minutes.

  • Shift 3 (Mathematics): 45 minutes.

Structure per Subject:

  • Questions: 30 MCQs per subject (Total 120 marks per subject).

  • Marking: +4 for every correct answer; -1 for every incorrect answer.

  • Language: Question papers are available in both English and Bengali.

Depending on your career goals, you must choose one of the following groups:

  • Group A: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for Engineering/Technology).

  • Group B: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (for Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, etc.).

  • Group C: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (for candidates keeping both options open).

💰 Application Fee

  • General (Male): ₹550

  • SC/ST (Male): ₹450

  • All Females & BPL Candidates: ₹350
