Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Exam

KEAM is a state-level screening process conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. It is unique because it combines an entrance exam (for Engineering and Pharmacy) with a centralized counseling process (for Architecture and Medical) that uses national-level scores like NEET and NATA.

📅 2026 Important Timeline

  • Registration Period: January 5 – February 6, 2026 (Closed)

  • Admit Card Release: April 1, 2026

  • Examination Dates: April 17 to April 23, 2026 (with buffer dates on April 13, 16, 24, and 25)

  • Result Declaration: On or before May 10, 2026

  • Rank List Publication: On or before May 20, 2026

🎓 Eligibility & Admissions by Stream

  • Engineering: Admission is based on a 50:50 weightage of the KEAM Entrance Exam score and your Class 12 board marks (normalized).

  • Pharmacy (B.Pharm): Admission is based solely on the KEAM Entrance Exam (Paper 1: Physics & Chemistry) score.

  • Medical (MBBS/BDS/Allied): There is no state entrance exam. You must qualify for NEET-UG 2026 and register for KEAM to participate in the Kerala state-quota counseling.

  • Architecture: There is no state entrance exam. Admission is based on your NATA score and Class 12 marks.

  • Age Limit: Must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2026. No upper age limit.

📝 Exam Pattern (Engineering & Pharmacy)

The exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted in English.

  • Engineering Structure: A single paper containing 150 questions to be completed in 180 minutes (3 hours).

  • Engineering Marks: Total 600 marks.

  • Subject Distribution: 75 questions in Mathematics, 45 in Physics, and 30 in Chemistry.

  • Pharmacy Structure: A 90-minute paper focusing only on Physics (45 questions) and Chemistry (30 questions) for a total of 300 marks.

  • Marking Scheme: +4 for every correct answer and -1 for every incorrect answer.

  • Engineering only / B.Pharm only: ₹925 (General) | ₹400 (SC) | Nil (ST)

  • Medical & Allied only / Architecture only: ₹650 (General) | ₹260 (SC) | Nil (ST)

  • Combined Courses (e.g., Engineering + Medical): Fees are additive (approx. ₹1,125 to ₹1,300 for General).

  • International Centre (Dubai): An additional fee of ₹16,000 is applicable for candidates choosing the UAE center.
